Yesterday a group of us were talking at lunch about shortcuts to holiness. We all agreed there are none! But we noted that people sometimes express a desire to become more Christ-like without being willing to do what the Bible says it takes to get there. This conversation reminded me of an “advertisement” I saw some time ago. In it a publisher supposedly markets a Bible that looks worn and marked up so the buyer would appear more spiritual.
