How to Respond to the Refugee Crisis

How to Respond to the Refugee Crisis

You’ve seen the pictures and heard the reports. Demonstrations in the streets. Families stranded in airports. Refugees afraid and uncertain of their future. The issue of immigrants and refugees has been in the news a lot in recent days, especially in light of recent presidential executive orders. If your Facebook newsfeed is like mine, you’ve probably seen many different positions taken and all of them taken passionately! As Christians we should be concerned about the plight of the suffering, wherever they may be and wherever they may be coming from. Yet, we also know that God has ordained human governments and one of the main tasks of those governments is to ensure the security of its people. So, what is a Christian to do? Below are two resources that I think you may find helpful. The first is an excellent article by David Platt, the president of the International Mission Board. The second is a link to the local office of World Relief. World Relief has been doing great work, from a solidly biblical approach to address the needs of the sojourner among us.
