Conor Smith

Conor grew up in the city of El Monte in the San Gabriel Valley. His sophomore year of high school was his first confrontation with Christianity at an SGCC beach trip. He distinctly remembers the strangeness of the youth group singing worship songs around the beach fire pit at night. He thanks God for those friends and his small group leader, for the Christian examples he could look to early on.

Conor gave his life to the Lord his senior year of high school in 2001. That experience led him to join Youth Staff when he graduated high school. He worked with high schoolers until 2013, when he moved to the college ministry, serving in this new ministry until 2022. He has always tried to be that same Godly example that was shown to him in high school.

He is currently involved in the Global Outreach Team, Men’s Ministries, and the Campus Master Plan Committee. Conor also serves in many other areas of the church such as leading the weekly Worship Service Live Stream Team, the campus moving ministry and a small group men’s bible study.

Since 2011, Conor has served as the Facilities Supervisor for the campus, overseeing projects such as the remodel of the Sanctuary, Basement and Palin Gym. He has had the pleasure of hiring and working with many college students from the youth group.

He married his amazing wife Beth (who he met in the SGCC youth group) in 2006. They have 2 children, Theo and Brookie, who currently attend San Gabriel Christian School. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, and a good ol’ fashioned church potluck.
