Habib Tannous

Habib Tannous is the husband to Melissa and the father of six amazing kids: Elias, Grace, Shafiq, Faith, Laith, and Ghaleb. By God’s sweet providence, the meaning of their names had formed a sentence that captures the testimony they want the world to know—Elias (My God), Grace (Grace), Shafiq (Mercy), Faith (Faith), Laith (Lion), and Ghaleb (The Victor)—“My God is gracious, merciful, and faithful. He is the lion of Judah, Who won our salvation.”

Habib was raised in a Christian household but didn’t come to know the Lord until 2010. Habib thought he was in the faith, but the fruit of his life and the affections of his heart didn’t reflect it. The Holy Spirit regenerated Habib’s heart to become profoundly aware of Jesus Christ in the Gospel through the reading of the first chapter of the Gospel of John. That is when Jesus Christ became precious to Habib.

Before God’s call to pursue pastoral ministry, Habib was a Foley artist. A Foley artist is a sound designer who creates and records sound effects in sync with the movie. Spending much time in the studio working on film and TV shows, which are easily forgotten, there was a desire to exert that same energy into an eternal kingdom that would last forever. When COVID-19 pandemic happened, the entire movie industry halted, and God’s call to enter seminary became loud and clear. After much prayer, a door opened to attend The Master’s Seminary. In Fall 2019, Habib began attending classes and graduated in May 2025 with a Master of Divinity (M.Div.).

Habib and his family are glad that the Lord has led them to San Gabriel Community Church to join and serve alongside the body to the glory of Jesus Christ in the Gospel.
